# Volleyball England Foundation > The Volleyball England Foundation is the official charity of Volleyball England. Established in 2019, the Foundation exists to make sport accessible to young people who might otherwise be excluded because of cost, confidence, equipment, transport, or lack of local opportunities. Support can include: - Funded beginner sessions - Equipment and kit provision - Trained volunteers - Supervised and welcoming environments - Support for schools and communities - Ongoing support designed to prevent participants dropping out after their first experience Volleyball is used because it is non-contact, suitable for beginners and late starters, mixed-gender friendly, playable indoors throughout the year and relatively inexpensive to deliver. The Foundation does not organise competitions or regulate volleyball. Its role is to help people access and begin participating in sport.
